OVIEDO NOTEBOOK BULLETS

• Oviedo wins its 10th consecutive Seminole Athletic Conference (SAC) team title.
• With his freshman debut in the varsity line-up for the banged-up starter Anthony Espinosa at 103, Wyatt Nutter went in non-seeded and took down the #3 seed in the first round with a pin after building a 7-0 lead, and ultimately advanced to the Championship Finals to take 2nd.
• Sophomore Cooper Powell, filling in for another varsity starter also out this week with injury in Corey Ray, took a last year State Qualifier into 3 overtime sessions in the semi-finals before losing 7-5, and then going on to place 4th.
• Sophomore Doug Vollaro, a 3rd place state placer last year as a freshman and a USA Wrestling Fargo All-American this past summer, earned an individual SAC Championship with 3 wins by pins.  Those 3 pins put Doug at 35 on the season and ties him with Kenny Lester for the team record of pins in a season at 35.  Lester's resume includes high school State Champion, USA Wrestling Fargo National Champion, #1 ranked heavyweight wrestler in the nation during his senior year, and current wrestler at Arizona State University.
• Just behind Vollaro in the final season run for most pins in a season for the school record is Junior Jay Taylor at 34 pins. 
• In the hunt to break the Oviedo season record of 51 wins in a season are Chase Gordon (44), Joey Hefley (43), Taylor (43), Vollaro (43), Lee Wildes (42), and Ray Rowland (41).  That record is currently held by Justin Fraga, who was a 2-time State Placer, a 2-time State Champion, and USA Wrestling Fargo All-American.  Justin recently graduated from Purdue University where he wrestled and was an NCAA National Championships qualifier.
