Oviedo's Chase Gordon Inks with the University of Oklahoma

After making official NCAA visits to Arizona State University, Clarion University, the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, the University of Wyoming, and the University of Oklahoma, where at each he received wrestling scholarship offers in the early signing period, Oviedo High School State Champion Chase Gordon has signed a letter of intent to continue his wrestling career and obtain his college education at the University of Oklahoma.

Chase's resume of wrestling includes 2009 Florida High School State Champion, two-time Fargo USA Wrestling All-American, 2009 FILA Junior Nationals All-American, and 2008 Brute Adidas Folkstyle National Champion/Outstanding Wrestler.

As a junior in high school, Chase's trek to an individual State Championship at 140 pounds included wins at the Florida High School State Championships tournament over four seniors.  Along the way, he dispatched a regular season loss, just one of two on a 46-2 season campaign, with a win in the quarterfinals.  In the semifinals, he defeated the state runner-up from the previous year to advance to the Championship Finals.  In the match for the State Championship title, Chase won over the defending State Champion to stand on the upper rung at the awards ceremony as a State Champion.

Chase Gordon is a three-year Team Captain for the four-time State Champion Oviedo wrestling program.
