OVIEDO WRESTLING NOTEBOOK BULLETS

Jake Schalles leads the team in wins and pins with 33 and 23 respectively.
Jake Schalles and Dustin Meloche continue their #1 ranking in their respective individual weight classes amongst all wrestlers in Florida (all team classifications) by ScoutFloridaPreps.com.
For the second consecutive week the Lions put eight in the Championship round, with six earning individual titles.
Three-time State Qualifier and two-time Region Champ Ty Zarbo, out most of the first half of the season with injury, racked up his second consecutive tourney title to go 12-1 on the season.
Freshman Michael "Hammer" Alpert continues to gather fan favorite status in a "cult-like following" as his growing contingent of supporters were in raucous, standing on feet format chanting, "Hammer, Hammer" in his overtime win in the Championship Finals. Once again, as has been his pattern in tourneys this year to date, he knocked off the top seed and the number three seed enroute to victory.
Dustin Meloche, Davin Morris, and Josh Keebler are tapping on the 30 wins door for the season at 28 each as Oviedo readies for the Seminole Athletic Conference tournament this weekend at Hagerty High School, where the team looks to extend its conference title wins to eight in a row.
Next up for Oviedo is Senior Night at the Robert W. Lundquist Gymnasium on the campus of Oviedo High School in a dual meet with Deltona High School on 16 January 2008.
