The reigning 3-time 3A State Champion and 14th ranked in the nation (W.I.N.) Oviedo Men's Wrestling Team kicked off its 2006-07 campaign by going 5-0 at their own-hosted Oviedo Duals on 2 December. The tourney featured state powers Palmetto Ridge (3rd last year in 1A), Cardinal Gibbons (4th in 1A and recent State Champions), and Flagler Palm Coast (past 3-time State Champions and a 3A team bringing back practically every member of its starting line-up from last year) as team entries in a field of ten teams. The duals format featured a Black Pool and an Orange Pool of five teams each, with the pool round-robin place winners cross-bracketing for final tournament placement.
